Information Overload at the Office - Solution - IBM DISK
Honestly, I can say that I am a computer illiterate. I am familiar with the simple and basic properties though but I don’t have any idea with software’s and hardwires of a computer. I can just type in information on the computer as my job requires but in terms of fixing what needs to be fixed, unfortunately, no interest can be seen from me.
One day, as the day in the office goes by; the network specialist began to roam around informing the employees that there are certain issues with our data storage system. I approached him and asked about the situation. He started to speak jargons. I really don’t understand what he is trying to say but bottom line, I know that there is something wrong with the data storage. Finally, the manager has decided to order what he called IBM Disk Arrays. The equipment has been installed and so far so good. The process is faster and as per my manager, the storage is much bigger than the old one.
After that incident, IBM storage has earned the right respect from all the staffs and the management. The company’s files are safe and secured. Before, I don’t care about those technical things. But I learned that it is really important in one’s business especially with our company.
