Going through a Lay Off by Selling Jewelry

An unfortunate thing happened, something I thought cannot possibly happen to us. My dad, who is the breadwinner of our family, suddenly lost his job. It was such a difficult time for all of us. Even my allowances were reduced to a miniscule amount that I find hard to spend. It has become uncertain on whether we can get the money we need.

Eager to help out, I searched online on what I can do to help the family’s financial crisis. I found out that we can get a considerable amount of cash easily just by selling jewelry. Of course, every article says that it is risky to do this, so I presented the idea to my parents first. They thought it is possible to get some cash to make ends meet for the moment. My mom had a collection of old jewelry, so we both sat down to separate the pieces that were possibly worth something.

We followed everything we need to do: research on possible dealers, look around for local stores and contact the Better Business Bureau. Luckily we found a great, reliable dealer who gave us up to 4 times more than other stores offered us! We are all so glad that we decided to sell old jewelry. My dad used the money to restore some savings and get a brand new job. Hooray!
