Heat Breakers: Don’t You Just Wish To Be One
Living in a secular world can be challenging, so I think! We often find ourselves faced with a host of challenging events and tasks. But then again, what would old age be without an eventful life. I think Id hate to lie to my grand child about some world war in 1985! So imagining myself at the front of my fireplace, age 92, rocking away in one winter night and trying to ‘fix’ a creative story isn’t my cup of tea! But in this video game society and the hi-tech community to come, the fireplaces might just be the only ancient discoveries to remain as part of the home décor.
Of course, central heating has attacked the traditional fires. The more common friend today is the ornament fire place, to ‘create’ that vision of the hearth. Yet all we do is prepare our arrival before hand by login into our houses while at the office, and setting the right temperature, preparing tea, and setting up the bath! These technological advances are taking away our manual labors! Without sweating, the enjoyment of simple pleasures is a waste!
So, without question, I can imagine the look in your great grandsons picture, somewhere In 2098 as he looks at your nineteen eighty picture in front of the ‘latest’ (at the time) gas fire hearth!
“What were these?” He would proceed to ask your grandson.
“These were Gas fires! There was nothing like them at the time son!” Your grand son would answer; Fact would be that he must have been told too! And what a heart break that would be. We should find a way of preserving the old tradition; create those authentic, rustic antique fireplaces to keep the tradition. Already there are companies that exemplify this right across the UK and the world!
