The Changing Trend In The Use Of Chexsystems
It was meeting held in San Francisco that dawned a new era in the Banking history of United States. Every bank those were not included in the free list of non chexsystems banks and who participated in the deliberations, announced that they will make positive changes in the use of chexsystems.
The initiative was however taken by the Bank of America, who in September, 2000 announced positive changes in its use of ChexSystems. One of the positive steps taken by the Bank was that it reduced the stagnation period of 5 years to a much customer-friendly 3 years term.
Another positive step taken was the announcement that in cases where the customer has already repaid his or her debt, the chexsystem reports shall be ignored after one year. Such step made a great leap forward in reducing the chexsystems dispute by a considerable margin. Customers were now free of the tension of having included in the chexsystems despite having repaid all the debts. The only requirement is that the consumer will complete a course on how to deal with financial transaction with responsibility.
Other relaxation the bank offered were an increase in the loss threshold of the accounts closed from $50 to $100 and also extending the time span for repayment of debts by the customer. The bank also made it a point that its message reaches the common mass by properly advertising the steps taken.
The good news is that you can now repay your debt within 90 days and get removed from chexsystems that is a 300% enhancement of previous time limits for such repayment.
