Screen Resolution Testing

When creating web design pages for an ecommerce website, you will have a long list of factors to consider. For instance, you will need to make sure all your coding is correct so pages load properly. Then, you will need a solid internet marketing plan to promote your site. You will also need to test your website using different screen resolutions since different computer users have their systems set differently.  Unfortunately, because this aspect of web design is somewhat challenging, we often see designers avoiding it. Although resolution testing might be somewhat difficult, if you want to reach a broad audience, you need to do it.

The reason it is so important to test your website with different screen resolutions is that pages will appear different depending on the resolution. A great example would be a web design with a multiple column layout. Sometimes, this type of layout will appear misaligned, meaning what the customer sees is unprofessional. Now, you will have many options for checking resolution but to get started, we highly recommend you test the following at minimum. Once you have completed the resolution testing, you can then submit your website to a number of search engines, using a variety of internet marketing options.

  • 800 x 600
  • 1024 x 768
  • 1280 x 800
  • 1400 x 900
  • 1680 x 1050
